Every roof in this gallery is a home we actually worked on. No stock photos, no staged shots from a manufacturer catalog. These are the kind of projects our crew shows up to every week across Hermitage, Sharon, Mercer, and the rest of the Shenango Valley.
We put this gallery together for two reasons. First, homeowners asked for it. People want to see how a new roof will actually look on a house like theirs before they commit to a color, a material, or a contractor. Second, it shows the standard we hold ourselves to. When you can see the finished product, you can judge the work for yourself.
If you want to talk about your own project, call us at (724) 877-7380.
Big River Roofing has been serving Mercer County for about five years. The projects in this gallery cover the same range of work we handle every day:
On every project, we take before-and-after photos. It is not a marketing thing, it started as a practical one. Showing the homeowner what we found up there is part of how we stay honest. If we pull back a damaged section and find rotted decking, you see a photo of it. If your valley was improperly flashed by whoever installed the last roof, you see that too. The gallery is the end of that process.
A few things you will notice in the photos:
One of the reasons people spend time in a contractor’s gallery is to pick a color. A few tips from experience:
Darker shingles look great on light-sided homes and hide dirt better, but they run hotter in the summer. Lighter shingles reflect more heat. Neither one is wrong, it is a tradeoff. According to ENERGY STAR, reflective roofing can lower roof surface temperature significantly, which matters more on lower-pitched roofs where the sun hits harder.
Architectural shingles give you more depth and shadow than 3-tab shingles, which is why most of our gallery shows that profile. Metal roofs change the whole character of a house, which is a feature, not a problem, as long as the look fits the home.
If you want help picking, we will bring shingle samples to your estimate and hold them up against your siding. It is the only way to really see how it will look.
